My Childhood
My childhood was far from perfect. However, I was born in a middle-class area. My parents never neglected me, and I never even had to think about worrying about food on the table. I always had what I needed and then a bit more. I was lucky enough not to have to live in an area where I was afraid to play outside. I did not have to worry about drugs, gangs, or violence befalling me. I think when we grow up worrying about these basic life necessities, it takes away our mental capacity to put toward things that will make us successful in the long run (education, goal setting, reading, etc.). I feel lucky to have been raised in an environment where I was not faced with life or death situations daily.
