Time

If we have enough time to contemplate life, then we are lucky. Here the idea of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs comes to mind. If we are at the bottom of the hierarchy, then we are merely fighting for survival. If we are at the top, then we have time to contemplate our lives and what the notion of a “life well lived” means. So, if we have the time to be contemplative, then I think we are fortunate. It’s sad to see that taken for granted considering it is the only thing that we have in life, and it goes in a single direction.
