Expectations: The universe owes us nothing

When we are born, we are owed nothing. The universe does not owe it to us to make sense. Humanity does not owe us any good fortune. This realization can be powerful when we consider that everyone starts at this location. We are all inherently flawed, and we do not deserve to be happy. We all can work on these flaws and realize happiness, fulfillment, and joy. It’s when we come from a place of deserving that arrogance can seep in and without care will strangle many of the fruits of life.
