Are we Vulnerable?

It seems like there are several primary factors for being vulnerable to solicitations by a cult. The first is low-self esteem. This idea is because cults often shower potential followers with praise until they are committed. A second factor is an isolated person (emotionally or geographically) from their family. This separation forces a person to search for a surrogate family. During this search, if this vulnerable person stumbles upon a cult, it is likely that the group could fill the void. Finally, people who are not well self-differentiated might tend to join a cult. This facet is because these types of folks are like social chameleons. They will go along with the people around them.
