Revenge
Anger seeks revenge, and by this same mechanism often destroys both itself and the enemy. Fueled by passion and an irascible demeanor that is left unchecked, anger seeks revenge for the perceived wrongdoings of others, according to Socrates. It is when we leverage the tools of reason and a demeanor of generosity that we can overcome such a sorrowful passion. Therefore, we must take care not to let this enemy that lurks in the shadows take us over. It is the way of the weak and immature person to allow anger to take the reigns of control from reason. It makes sense that this journey is much like the one in the gym. We must focus dedicated and concerted efforts toward the goal of its demise.
