Ferocity

There is the capacity within all of us to do evil things generally speaking out of anger, bitterness, or resentment. When we have experienced such a state for quite some time, then we can transition into the realm of ferocity. Here, we become possessed by the idea of inflicting harm as the primary purpose of our action. As Seneca suggests, when we are in this state we are willing to get hurt, so long as we can inflict an injury. As with many aspects surrounding anger, this is corrected by a strong sense of internal moral conviction and discipline.
