What are some pitfalls of burnout?
We primarily want to avoid burnout because it means that we are not in an optimal place in our lives. If we are not feeling motivated or inspired, or are just downright bored, then we need to make a change. If we do not, then we will undoubtedly decline in productivity and efficiency as we surpass forty hours worked in a week. Secondly, if we severely despise what we are doing, or view it as a means to a monetary end, then it is likely we will compensate in an unhealthy way. One harmful thing we tend to do when burnt out is to drink to an unhealthy degree, prone to forget about the ills of the present and to care less about the equally grim future. It’s imperative to create a purpose in our life that is meaningful to the best of our ability.
