What is economic security?

It’s curious to think about the economy, and especially the stock market, which functions based on a created system of agreed-upon rules. We operate based on a set of rules. So playing these sorts of games comes quite naturally. It’s when we mistake this sort of play, for the reality that things seem to get wonky. Why, after all, are so many people devastated by the stock market plunge? They took it too seriously; they thought they could win a game that requires foresight when, in fact, humans do not have a drop of such capacity. Challenging times can help us to remember that nothing is guaranteed, and security is to a degree is transient. That is not to say that we have not enjoyed great prosperity based on what we have.
