What is obfuscation?

The word obfuscate means to make something unclear, obscure, or unintelligible, according to Google. How does this pertain to us and our reality? If we are trying to determine someone’s stance on something, and whether we believe that it is right or wrong, they can choose to obfuscate the facts. They can choose to add a large amount of superfluous information that confuses, and derails our sleuthing efforts. This approach is a favorite tactic of many high ranking politicians and news media outlets.
