We are more alike
When we boil away, much of what we do as human beings, what seems to be left is the fact that we ascribe meaning to the world. After we get done eating, drinking, sleeping, procreating, and excreting, we assign meaning to those and any scenario that might arise in life. On this basis, we seem to be more alike than we are different. I’m hoping that as we seek to understand and, as a result, learn and grow, we might do a better job of being accepting of others. Aside from distinct biological, psychological, and cultural differences (which are not trivial), humans are mostly the same fundamental meaning creating entities.
