Giving Pause

Discipline allows us to give pause when our emotions well up from within. If we take a second, or perhaps some days or weeks, we can allow our anger to pass much like a thunderous storm. If we allow this to happen, we will not be swallowed up by the sea of emotions. This approach is an advantageous position because we are much less likely to do something we regret. When we let the fires of anger and rage die down, then we can allow for reason to take the reigns.
