What is a sphere of influence?

It’s easy for our minds to run wild and get upset about things far outside the reach of our control. Many people are angry with the government, the economy, jobs, etc. I’ve stopped people from complaining before and said, “Okay, I agree, things are pretty messed up. Now, what are you going to do about it?” That usually ends the conversation. They either cannot or will not do anything about the complaint. Some of this is due to unwillingness, but some of it is because they realize that there is nothing that can be done. The things we can impact and areas in which we can affect change are within our sphere of influence. We can change things at our current place of employment, our town, within our house, and within our family.
