Solar Panel sales

I have experienced yet another cult-like experience around money. This time I was trying to find a job in California. I went for an “Energy Consultant” position interview. It was not until I had to return for day two, and we went to the field to “canvas” the neighborhood that I started to understand what I was doing. These folks were going door to door trying to sell solar panels. The company that was trying to hire me was a small front for a more substantial financial firm. The firm contracted these smaller businesses to get its financial instruments utilized to sell solar panels. The companies were small and distributed because they often failed. The meeting with the CEO before we went to the field was nothing less than a feeding frenzy. It was a bizarre high-pressure sales situation.
